Very Sincerely". Captioned magazine photograph, b/w, 1x1½, affixed at upper
right margin. American author, humorist and columnist Irvin Shrewsbury Cobb
(1876-1944) wrote over 60 books, including Paths of Glory (1915),
an account of his experiences covering WWI, and 300 short stories. Cobb,
who began his journalistic career with the "Paducah Daily News" and the
"Louisville Evening Post", moved to New York in 1904. There, he worked for the
"Evening Sun" and "New York World" and covered WWI for the "Saturday
Evening Post". Cobb's works provided the basis for a number of feature
films, and Cobb himself appeared in ten films between 1932 and 1938.
He also hosted the 1935 Academy Awards. Slightly creased. Shaded at blank
right margin. Mounting remnant on verso (no show through). Overall, fine
condition.
