Printed Illustration signed: "Yours Sincerely,/Irvin S. Cobb". B/w, 6x8. Imprinted at lower left margin: "A. P. Lamoreaux 11-1942". American author, humorist and columnist Irvin Shrewsbury Cobb (1876-1944) wrote over 60 books, including Paths of Glory (1915), an account of his experiences covering WWI, and 300 short stories. Cobb, who began his journalistic career with the "Paducah Daily News" and the "Louisville Evening Post", moved to New York in 1904. There, he worked for the "Evening Sun" and "New York World" and covered WWI for the "Saturday Evening Post". Cobb's works provided the basis for a number of feature films, and Cobb himself appeared in ten films between 1932 and 1938. He also hosted the 1935 Academy Awards. Slightly creased and lightly soiled, else fine condition.
