1955 November 25. To Jerry Juroe, Paramount Pictures, 5451 Marathon
Street, Hollywood. In full: "I have your letter of the 22nd and this
is to okay the clip from 'White Christmas' for the Colgate Variety Hour on
December 25th." Bing Crosby's recording of Berlin's holiday song, "White
Christmas", was on "Billboard's" record charts for a Guinness world record
total of 72 weeks between 1942 and 1962. Introduced by Crosby in 1942's
Holiday Inn, it won an Academy Award for Best Song. The 1954 film
White Christmas also starred Crosby, who again sang Berlin's Christmas
classic. The Colgate Variety Hour, previously known as The Colgate
Comedy Hour (1950-1954), was televised on NBC. Lightly creased.
