Signed 1981 letter of the sports impresario who rebuilt Madison
Square Garden in the 1960s. Extremely rare!
Typed letter signed: "I.M.F. ", in blue ink, 1 page, 7¼x10½.
New York City, New York, January 27, 1981. On his letterhead as Chairman
of the Madison Square Garden Corporation, to "Dear 'Rush'", Charles J.
Russhon, New York, in full: "I am dropping this note to you from
California because I was anxious for us to keep in touch even though I have been
here and in London so much that we haven't been able to get together in New
York. Upon my return to New York I will be in touch with you so we can have that
luncheon date. As always, my warmest regards and best wishes. Sincerely,".
Sports impresario Irving Mitchell Felt (1910-1994) rebuilt New York
City's Madison Square Garden in the 1960s. Under his direction Madison Square
Garden Corporation bought the New York Rangers, the New York Knicks, the
Roosevelt Raceway on Long Island and Holiday on Ice Productions. He also served
as President and Chairman of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies.
