Typescript signed: "Isaac Asimov", 1p, 8½x11. The opening paragraphs of his novella The Martian Way, signed at lower margin. Begins: "From the doorway of the short corridor between the only two rooms in the travel-head of the spaceship, Mario Esteban Rioz watched sourly as Ted Long adjusted the video dials painstakingly...." The Martian Way was first published in 1952 and reprinted in the 1955 anthology The Martian Way and Other Stories. Asimov (1920-1992), a Russian-born American writer and biochemist, wrote over 500 books. His most popular science fiction includes I, Robot (1950), The Foundation Trilogy (1951-1953), the Hugo-winning sequel Foundation's Edge (1982) and the Hugo and Nebula-winning novel The Gods Themselves (1972). Asimov, who also authored a series of mystery novels and many non-fiction works on science while editing his own magazine, wrote over 1,600 essays. Lightly toned and creased, otherwise in fine condition.
