JACK ANDERSON
The investigative journalist inscribes this black and white photograph
Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Doug/with warmest wishes/Jack Anderson". B/w, 8x10.
Investigative journalist Jack Anderson won the 1972 Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting "for
his reporting of American policy decision-making during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971." At
this time, the Watergate scandal was beginning to unfold, and Anderson, who headed
President Nixon's list of enemies, found himself stalked by the CIA and subjected to a
frivolous IRS audit on Nixon's orders. Anderson is a legend in journalistic circles. His "The
Washington Merry-Go-Round" column, inherited from Drew Pearson in 1969, has been
syndicated for more than 50 years, giving readers "The News Behind the Headlines". Anderson
is also the Editor of "National Forum" and has written a number of books on the
behind-the-scenes workings of politics. Minor surface creases (not evident head on). Tape
stains on verso (no show through). Fine condition.
