Siganture: "Jack Buchanan/[illegible] Theatre". With 20 unidentified signatures. Blue ink notations in unknown hand in top left corner and on verso. 11x8. According to the date on this page, Buchanan made his signature here on Sept. 9, 1948. Scottish-born Buchanan (1890-1957) debuted on the London stage in 1912 and on the silver screen five years later. His film appearances included Monte Carlo (1930), Brewster's Millions (1935) and The Band Wagon (1953). He held his own when paired with other debonair screen personalities like Maurice Chevalier and Fred Astaire. Lightly toned, stained, soiled, creased and bowed. Unknown signature touches Buchanan's. Show-through touches unknown signatures but not Buchanan's. Neatly torn from binding at left edge. Lightly discolored top, left and bottom edges. Otherwise in fine condition.
