Autograph Letter signed: "Jack Carter!" in blue ink. 1p, 7¼x10½. No place, no date. In full:
"Hi - In this world of ordinary people I'm glad there is Lou! Thanks so much for all the nice
mentions unsolicited et. al. You almost always make me feel included and that I've arrived and
its [sic] nice to be loved. Still holding forth in Brooklyn at the Town & Country "Idlewild with a
minimum". Wish I could drive you and Peg out one nite. You'd love the parties and banquet
humour I display. Also Sally Blair is fantastic - Thanks again Louis." A successful nightclub
comedian, James Carter (1922-2015) has been a frequent guest on TV variety shows, quiz
panels and series since the early 1950s. His film career as a character actor spans two-thirds
of a century and includes films such as: The Amazing Dobermans (1976), Viva Las Vegas
(1964), History of the World, Part I (1981), Won Ton Ton, The Dog Who Saved
Hollywood (1976), October 22 (1998), etc. Lightly creased. Pencil "File" note (unknown
hand) at upper margin. Otherwise, fine condition.
