counsel" and saying that he thought Moynihan "might like to see my 'irreverant' [sic]
approach" at hearings in New York City. Obtained directly from Moynihan's estate!

full: "Thanks for your sound & thoughtful counsel on my appearance at the Platform hearings in
New York City. I really enjoyed it & thought you might like to see my 'irreverant' [sic] approach. I
do appreciate the friendly advice of your good office." Jack French Kemp (1935-2009) was an
American Republican politician, collegiate and professional football player. He served as
Housing Secretary in the administration of President George H. W. Bush from 1989 to
1993, having previously served nine terms as a congressman for Western New York's 31st
congressional district from 1971 to 1989. He was the Republican Party's nominee for Vice
President in the 1996 election, where he was running mate of presidential nominee Bob
Dole; Kemp had previously contended for the presidential nomination in the 1988
Republican primaries. Jack Kemp was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of
Freedom in 2009 by President Barack Obama. Daniel Patrick Moynihan(1927-2003).
Moynihan served four terms in the U.S. Senate (1977-2001) as a Democrat representing New
York. A prolific author, Moynihan held positions in the administrations of four Presidents:
Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Ford. Estate inventory number stamped in left margin. Slightly
