JACK LEMMON. TLS: "Jack", 1p, 7¼x10½. No place, 1974 April. To Joan Crawford, New York. In full: "A quickie while I've got a couple of seconds between scenes just to thank you for your lovely note. Coming from you, I don't think I need tell you how deeply I appreciate it." On the evening of April 2, 1974, JACK LEMMON was presented with the Academy Award for Best Actor for Save the Tiger. "I had a speech prepared in 1959 but I've forgotten it," said Lemmon. "There has been some criticism of this Award, some of it justified, but I think it is one hell of an honor and I'm thrilled." Lemmon had won a Best Supporting Oscar in 1956 for Mister Roberts. He was nominated for 1959's Some Like It Hot but Charlton Heston won for Ben-Hur. JOAN CRAWFORD had won the 1946 Academy Award for Best Actress for Mildred Pierce. Lightly creased, else fine condition.
