this 7x9 photograph.
Inscribed photograph signed: "Hi Mari/Best,/Jack/Lescouli", in
blue ink, B/w 7x9. Radio and television announcerJack Lescoulie
(1912-1987) is most remembered as being one half of the first two man morning
radio team, opposite Gene Rayburn. He voiced on a number of radio programs,
taking the title of the "all night radio man" on the MBS affiliates WOR
am station. He also voice acted in two Quiet, Please! radio drama,
one in 1948 and the other in 1949. He also had a prominent role in
the television series Today (1952), taking many roles in the show
from interviewing, sports reporting, and announcing. His tenure with the
show ended when he resigned, unable to work with the show's early morning
scheduling. He also briefly hosted The Tonight Show in 1957, after
they tried a tactic to model the show after the popular Today
series. Tape on middle of right and left margin. Residue stain above middle
right margin. Ink note (unkown hand) on verso.
