JACK LIVESEY, ROGER LIVESEY, DOUGLAS IVES, PETER GRAY, DAPHNE NEWTON, PATRICIA HASTINGS, and WILFRED STEPHENSAlbum leaf signed by seven English actors that features a black and white photograph of one of the actors affixed Signature: "Best Wishes/Jack Livesey" and "The same/Roger Livesey", on verso, "Sincerely/Patricia Hastings", "Wilfred Stephens", "Douglas Ives", "Best wishes/Peter Gray" and "Sincerely/Daphne Newton", 6¼x5 album leaf, with b/w 2½x3½ magazine photo captioned "Jack Livesey" affixed to Livesey side. JackLivesey (1901-1961, born in Barry, South Wales, England) was a Welsh actor with 40 movies and TV shows and three Broadway shows, including Look Back in Anger (1957-1958, 407 performances), to his credit between 1918 and 1963. He was the son of actor Sam Livesey and brother of actors Roger and Barry Livesey. Roger Livesey (1906-1976, born in Barry, Wales, England) appeared in his first film The Four Feathers in 1921. He is most closely associated with the title role in The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (1943), in which he portrayed the previously caustic cartoon version of a reactionary Englishman as a likable, if eccentric, character. Livesey, rejected by the Royal Air Force as too old, went to work in an aircraft factory to help the war effort, but was released to make Colonel Blimp. He married actress Ursula Jeans, whose boxer brother Desmond was married to Livesey's sister. Livesey and Jeans appeared on stage and in films together, including Blimp and 1961's The Queen's Guard. Douglas Ives (1898-1969, born in Sheffield, England) was an actor with almost 40 movies and television shows on his resume between 1951 and 1969. Peter Gray was an actor with 10 credits in British and American movies and TV shows between 1955 and 1962. Daphne Newton (1907-1986) notched over a dozen credits in film and television, notably the 1958 television series Our Mutual Friend. Patricia Hastings was an actress with three acting credits on British television. Wilfred Stephens merits further research. Lightly toned, soiled and creased. Ink transference from a photograph on another leaf. Leaf torn from album on one edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
