JACK LORDThe actor who portrayed Detective Steve McGarrett in the long-running television show Hawaii Five-O signed this check Check Signed: "Jack Lord" in blue ink. 6x2¾. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA protective case. Dated June 2, 1962. This check is paid in the amount of $3.41 to Wayne Chong's dry cleaning service. Jack Lord (1920-1998) was a Broadway performer and actor who had a number of especially memorable roles. He portrayed Felix Leiter in the first James Bond film Dr. No (1962) thirteen years after he made his screen debut. Soon after, he earned a lead role in the television show Stoney Burke (1962-1963) as the titular character. After a few years spent appearing in various television shows and movies, he nabbed the role that most remember him for. As Steve McGarrett in the Hawaii detective drama Hawaii Five-O (1968-1980), Lord became a star. He starred in all 281 episodes of the hit television show, where his character reported directly to the Governor of Hawaii during his fight against the state's criminal element. Lord moved to Honolulu when he first started the series in 1968 and lived there until he passed away in 1998. Top edge worn. Regular bank stamping and perforations. Otherwise, fine condition.
