Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Edith -/Sincerely/Jack Webb". B/w 8x10. Jack Webb (1920-1982) remains a television legend for his role as Sergeant Joe Friday on Dragnet, which debuted on radio in 1949 and had two successful runs on television (1951-1959, 1967-1970). Webb strived for a realistic crime drama, but also one which portrayed the police in a positive light. When Webb died, the Los Angeles police force retired his badge #714. A lover of jazz, Webb played a cornet player in Pete Kelly's Blues (1955). His Mark VII production company created other successful TV programs, notably Adam-12 (1968-1975) and Emergency (1972-1976). Top edge and lower right corner lightly worn. Fine condition.
