Price: $260.00
JACKIE COOPER
Vintage black and white publicity photograph of Jackie Cooper as
young boy.
Photograph signed: "Jackie Cooper". B/w, 10x8 overall, image
9¼x7 (one surface). Quote from movie at bottom margin: "We keep the canary in
the cat - he ate him..." Child film star Jackie Cooper (1922-2011)
appeared first in Hal Roach's "Our Gang" comedies, then earned an Oscar
nomination as Skippy (1931). He co-starred with Wallace Beery
in several films of the 1930s, including The Champ and Treasure
Island. As an adult, his film opportunities diminished, but Cooper had two
hit TV series in the 1950s, The People's Choice and Hennessy. He
won an Emmy (1973) for directing episodes of M*A*S*H. Cooper
played newspaper editor Perry White in all four of the Christopher Reeves
Superman movies (1981-1987). He also produced several TV programs, and
formed Cooper-Finkel Associates with fellow producer Bob Finkel for that
purpose. Lightly creased. Upper edges missing. Otherwise, fine
condition.
