Jackie Cooper sends a typed letter involving a billing dispute, insisting that he hasn't been kept informed.
Typed Letter signed: "Jackie", 1p, 4¼x7. No place, 1972 October 26. On his personal note paper to "Richard". ("Harris" is typed in upper right corner.) In full: "Attached are copies of correspondence from B-K's office I returned, marked 'OK', today. I assume if MY OK goes on here, Finkel will OK as well. Please let me know when you receive payment. I am quite surprised some of the billing goes back so far...[ellipses in original] I was never sent a copy (by anyone) of any of your earlier billing that's been unpaid, and I don't know the reason for Brown's delaying or not consulting me. Again, as President of the Cooper-Finkel Company, I haven't been consulted by Brown's office on anything since late 1970 ... honestly." Child film star Jackie Cooper (1922-2011) appeared first in Hal Roach's "Our Gang" comedies, then earned an Oscar nomination as Skippy (1931). He co-starred with Wallace Beery in several films of the 1930s, including The Champ and Treasure Island. As an adult, his film opportunities diminished, but Cooper had two hit TV series in the 1950s, The People's Choice and Hennessy. He won an Emmy (1973) for directing episodes of M*A*S*H. Cooper played newspaper editor Perry White in all four of the Christopher Reeves Superman movies (1981-1987). He also produced several TV programs, and formed Cooper-Finkel Associates with fellow producer Bob Finkel for that purpose. Binder hole and paperclip impression at top. Otherwise, fine condition.
