JACQUELINE LOGAN
Signed photo in stylish aviator garb
Photograph signed: "Jacqueline Logan. B/w 8x10. Jacqueline
Logan (1901-1983) performed with the Boston Opera Company and was briefly a
Ziegfeld girl before becoming a star of silent films. Her most famous role
was that of Mary Magdalene in Cecil B. DeMille's King of Kings
(1927). With the advent of sound, her voice was added to the film. Her
screen career waned with the advent of talkies, and - though she made a
successful directorial debut in England (Strictly Business, 1932), a
woman was not yet welcome in Hollywood in that role. In her later years, Logan
devoted much time to conservative politics, supporting the foreign policy
advocacy group the American Security Council, mentioned by her here, and the
much more extreme John Birch Society. ¾x½-inch surface damage at upper right.
Lightly creased. Lightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
