one golf." 8½x6½. The entertainment career of James Barton (1890-1962)
extended from minstrel shows in his youth to TV series of the early 1960s.
Debuting on Broadway in The Passing Show of 1919, he appeared in
such post-World War II stage successes as Tobacco Road, The Iceman
Cometh and Paint Your Wagon. His first film was a silent one, Why
Women Remarry (1923). His last was The Misfits (1961). A frequent
cast member on TV playhouses in the 1950s, he appeared on three episodes of
Naked City (1959-1961). Barton, who could sing and dance as well as
act, usually played supporting roles, but Bing Crosby named him one of his 10
favorite performers. Horizontal and vertical fold creases. Paperclip crease
and stain at upper left margin. Upper edge notched. Creased and lightly
soiled.
