Signature: "James/Black/28", 6x4 card. Newspaper photo of the player attached to right edge. James Black (b.1969) is a retired NHL left wing who played 12 seasons with the Hartford Whalers, Minnesota North Stars, Dallas Stars, Buffalo Sabres, Chicago Blackhawks and the Washington Capitals between 1989 and 2001. Drafted by Hartford in the 5th round of the 1989 NHL Entry draft, Black played his first 3 seasons with the North Stars before being traded to Dallas and then to Buffalo, both with brief 1 season stints. He played with the Blackhawks for three seasons before he landed in Washington for his final seasons. Retiring in 2001, Black posts an NHL record of 58 goals and 57 assists in 352 games. Black was also a minor and international league player, and continued with the German Iserlohn Roosters until 2004 when he retired from the sport all together. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso.
