GIANT AUTOGRAPHED PHOTOGRAPH OF DOUGLAS KNOCKING OUT MIKE TYSON FOR THE
UNDISPUTED HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP IN ONE OF THE BIGGEST UPSETS IN
BOXING HISTORY
JAMES "BUSTER" DOUGLAS. Large Photograph signed: "James Buster
Douglas". Color, 20x16. Depicts Douglas knocking out Mike Tyson for the
World Heavyweight title in the tenth round of their February 11, 1990 match up
in Tokyo, Japan. At that time, Tyson was considered the best fighter in boxing
and odds-makers had him as a 42-1 favorite to beat Douglas, who was the first to
floor the champ. The shocking result was headlined "Rocky Lives!" on the cover
of "Sports Illustrated" magazine. Douglas' reign as Undisputed World Heavyweight
champ (WBA, WBC, IBF) was short-lived, however; on October 25, 1990, he was
knocked out in the third round by Evander Holyfield. Accompanied by
photograph, unsigned. Color, 6x4. Depicts Douglas signing this
photograph. James "Buster" Douglas (born in 1960) had fought in only one
other championship bout, losing to Tony Tucker for the vacant IBF
Championship in 1987. His last fight was against Andre Crowder on February 19,
1999, when Douglas won by a TKO. Minor surface creases (not evident head on),
some at Tyson's facial image. Fine condition.
