Autograph Note signed: "To Penny,/with best wishes/Jamie Copeland", 6½x4¼. Magazine caption ("Sailor!") affixed in lower right. Also signed on verso: "Best Wishes/Peggy Mount". Magazine caption affixed: "Sailor Beware!". Scottish character actor JAMES COPELAND (1923-2002) played many well remembered supporting roles, including the ship's mate in The Maggie, a police constable in The 39 Steps, a guide in The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, Captain Oglivie in Operation Kilt, and a Scottish customer in a popular episode of Are You Being Served? He played Jamie Stewart on Take the High Road in the 1980's. English stage and screen actress PEGGY MOUNT (1915-2001) was known for playing battleaxes, as in Sailor Beware (1955), a role she reprised in the 1956 film. She starred as a cockney woman in the ITV sitcom The Larkins, followed by more sitcoms, including George and the Dragon and You're Only Young Twice. She appeared with Terry Thomas and Peter Sellers in The Naked Truth (1957), and played Mrs. Bumble in the film version of Oliver! (1968). She worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the 1980s. Lightly toned around edges. Corners slightly creased. Left edge frayed. Pencil notes (unknown hand) at top margin. Otherwise, fine condition.
