Photograph inscribed and signed: "To/Eveala -/Kindest Regards -/Sincerely/James Craig". B/w, 8x10. James Craig (1912-1985) appeared in films for 40 years (1937-1976). Starting out in small - and sometimes even un-credited roles - he moved up to major ones. These included Jabez Stone in The Devil and Daniel Webster(1941), the Caliph in Kismet (1944), the third billing behind William Powell and Hedy Lamarr in The Heavenly Body (also 1944) and Pat Garrett in Last of the Desperados (1955). He was a frequent TV guest in the 1950s and sixties, mostly in Westerns. In Gore Vidal's novel Myra Breckinridge, Craig is mentioned several times as a desirable actor. Torn near center top edge. Corners worn and creased. Paper affixed and ink stamp on verso. Surface creases at edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
