Simon Cameron, a key Pennsylvania Republican, had been President Lincoln's first Secretary of War and a US Senator. James Cameron was Secretary of War under President Grant (1876-1877), resigning the office to fill the US Senate seat from which his father had just resigned. Cameron represented Pennsylvania in the US Senate from until 1897. Uneven cut on left edge. Toned and creased. Light stains. Otherwise, fine condition.
