Contract signed: "James Darren", blue ink, 2 pages (front and back), 8½x14. Accompanied by two typed letters signed by agents from the AGVA Artists' Representatives Association, Inc. Beverly Hills, California, 1961 November 1. MCA Artists LTD. Agency Exclusive Agency contract between them and James Ecolani Jr. pka James Darren, by which Darren is bound to for the period of 3 years as of November 1, 1961. The Agency is to receive 10% of money and other considerations earned by Darren under the terms of this contract. Section 4 of the contract has been crossed out and initialed by Darren's agent. In 1956, 20-year-old James Darren's (b.1936) movie debut was as the star of Rumble on the Docks, which also starred Robert Blake. Darren was also Moondoggie in three Gidget movies (1959, 1961, 1963). In 1961, Darren recorded "Goodbye Cruel World" which rose to #3 on the charts. As a recording star, he also reached the Top 40 in 1967 with "All" and hit the charts in 1977 with "You Take My Heart Away". Darren starred in two TV series, Time Tunnel (1966-1967) and T. J. Hooker (1982-1986) and co-starred on Star Trek Deep Space Nine as hologram crooner Vic Fontaine (1998-1999), reprising songs from the series on his 1999 album, This One's From the Heart. He also starred as Tony Marlin on Melrose Place in 1999. Staple holes and top left corner. Creased and toned. Corners lightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
