Signature: "James/Farentino", in black ink, 5x3. Stage, screen
and television actor James Farentino (1938-2012) won the 1973 Theatre World
Award for his role as Stanley Kowalski in a revival of A Streetcar Named
Desire, but he is best known for his television work. Farentino, who
made his TV debut in an episode of Naked City in 1962, has had
starring roles on such TV series as Police Story (as Charlie
Czonka, 1973-1978), Dynasty (as Dr. Nick Toscanni, 1981-1982) and
Blue Thunder (as Frank Chaney, 1984), and he has been a guest
star in a long list of TV series, from romantic comedies to Westerns to
police dramas. Farentino, who has also appeared in numerous made-for-TV
movies and miniseries, made his feature film debut in 1964
(Psychomania), and he was one of Universal's last contract stars
in the 1960s. His credits include Ensign Pulver (1964), Banning
(1967), Me, Natalie (1969), Bulletproof (1996), The Last
Producer (2000) and Termination Man (2000). Notorious for being
charged with stalking Frank Sinatra's daughter, Tina, and for cocaine
possession (1991), Farentino's four wives include actresses Elizabeth
Ashley (1962-1965) and Michele Lee (1966-1982). Fine condition.
