actor James Farentino (1938-2012) won the 1973 Theatre World Award for
his role as Stanley Kowalski in a revival of A Streetcar Named Desire,
but he is best known for his television work. Farentino, who made his TV

such TV series as Police Story (as Charlie Czonka, 1973-1978),
Dynasty (as Dr. Nick Toscanni, 1981-1982) and Blue
Thunder (as Frank Chaney, 1984), and he has been a guest star in a
long list of TV series, from romantic comedies to Westerns to police dramas.
Farentino, who has also appeared in numerous made-for-TV movies and
miniseries, made his feature film debut in 1964 (Psychomania), and he
was one of Universal's last contract stars in the 1960s. His credits
include Ensign Pulver (1964), Banning (1967), Me, Natalie
(1969), Bulletproof (1996), The Last Producer (2000) and
Termination Man (2000). Notorious for being charged with stalking
Frank Sinatra's daughter, Tina, and for cocaine possession (1991),
Farentino's four wives include actresses Elizabeth Ashley (1962-1965) and
Michele Lee (1966-1982). Corners lightly creased. Otherwise, fine
