Photograph signed: "James Garner". Color, 8x10. Actor James Garner (1928-2014) got his start in show business with a non-speaking role in the Broadway play, The Caine Mutiny Court Martial (1954). Garner, who would go on to star in films, found his greatest success on television, starring in three popular series:Maverick (1957-1961; 1981-1982), The Rockford Files (1974-1980) and 8 Simple Rules...for Dating My Teenage Daughter (2003-2005). He has also been seen on the small screen in a number of made-for-TV movies, including Maverick and Rockford films, and guest starred on several series, from early anthologies (beginning in 1956) to Chicago Hope (2000). Nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for Murphy's Romance, Garner's film credits also include Sayonara (1957), Up Periscope (1959), The Thrill of It All!, The Great Escape (1963), The Americanization of Emily (1964, his favorite film), Support Your Local Sheriff (1969), Marlow (1969), Victor/Victoria (1982), Space Cowboys (2000), Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (2002) and The Notebook (2004). Minor surface creases (not evident head on), one at chin. Fine condition.
