Chico and the Man began its four-season run in 1974. Komack was an executive producer for the series and co-wrote its pilot. He would also direct two episodes in 1975. Komack (1924-1997, born in New York City) was an American director, producer, writer and actor. Komack, who was sometimes billed as "Jimmie Komack", "Jimmy Komack" and "James Komach", was a successful stand-up comic before finding even more success as a producer and director.
