Captioned at lower margin. In 1952, Stewart also starred on the big screen in Bend of the River and The Greatest Show on Earth. James "Jimmy" Stewart (1908-1997) starred in more recognized masterpieces of the American cinema than any other actor. In 1940, Stewart won the Best Actor Academy Award for The Philadelphia Story, and he was nominated for Oscars in the same category for Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), It's A Wonderful Life (1946), Harvey (1950) and Anatomy of a Murder (1959). Stewart, who was awarded an Honorary Academy Award in 1984, also appeared in such films as You Can't Take It With You, Destry Rides Again, Winchester 73, Rear Window, The Glenn Miller Story and a long list of other features. He also starred on two TV series, The Jimmy Stewart Show (1971-1972) and Hawkins (1973-1974), and appeared in the miniseries, North and South, Book II (1986). Lightly creased and shaded at blank margins and corners, staple holes at corners. Minor surface creases and scratches (most not evident head on), light scratches (barely visible) at facial image. Light impression of embossing at lower right. Overall, fine condition.
