James Stewart and Gloria Stewart sign a document renting a natural
grass pasture and corral.
Photocopied Typed Docuement Signed: "James Stewart" and
"Gloria H. Stewart" as Lessor and "Glenn W Cornelius/Feb
22-65" as Lessee, 4p, 8½x13, separate sheets. No place, 1965 March
2. Headed: "Lease Agreement". Stewart and his wife, as Lessor, rent a
natural grass pasture and corrals on property they are purchasing to the current
tenant, Cornelius. In part: "Lessor has entered into an agreement with
JOHN J. MITCHELL to purchase certain real property...Upon the recordation of
JOHN J. MITCHELL's deed to the property...all of Lessee's rights, title and
interest in said property will automatically terminate, except for Lessee's
rights as a month to month tenant...Lessee will become a month to month
tenant of Lessor with respect only to the natural grass pasture located
on the property...and with respect to the corralls located on the
property...Lessee will have no other interest in the property...The rent
for the natural grass pasture and the corralls shall be the sum of One ($1.00)
Dollar per month, payable in advance...Lessee shall, during the entire term
hereof, keep in full force and effect a policy with broad form endorsement of
public liability and property damage insurance...All notices which Lessee
desires or is required to give to Lessor shall be given by registered or
certified mail...." Cornelius has filled in his mailing address.

JAMES "JIMMY" STEWART (1908-1997) starred in more recognized masterpieces of the
American cinema than any other actor. In 1940, he won the Best Actor
Academy Award for The Philadelphia Story,and he was
nominated for Oscars in the same category for Mr. Smith Goes to
Washington (1939), It's A Wonderful Life (1946), Harvey (1950)
and Anatomy of a Murder (1959). Stewart, who was awarded an Honorary
Academy Award in 1984, also appeared in You Can't Take It With You,
Destry Rides Again, Winchester 73, Rear Window, The
Glenn Miller Story, The Greatest Show on Earth and a long list of
other features. Actress GLORIA HATRICK MCLEAN STEWART was married to the
Academy Award-winning actor from August 9, 1949 until her death on February 16,
1994; the couple had twin girls, Judy and Kelly, and Stewart adopted
Gloria's two boys from her previous marriage. The couple appeared together on
the TV game show, Password, and Gloria guest starred in an episode
of her husband's TV series, The Jimmy Stewart Show, in 1971. She also
made several guest appearances (as herself) on The Jack Benny Program and
The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Lightly creased with folds, not
at signatures. Pencil notes (unknown hand) at upper margin of first page.
