Document signed: "James Stewart", 1 page, 8½x11. He signs a printed
AFTRA rider, agreeing to pay an agency commission on entertainment contracts
entered into before his agreement with the (unnamed) management agency. Unsigned
typed note at lower margin: "Approved as to form Feb. 10, 1976/Labor
Commissioner State of California." Stewart (1908-1997, born in Indiana,
Pennsylvania) starred in more recognized masterpieces of the American cinema
than any other actor. In 1940, he won the Best Actor Academy Award for
The Philadelphia Story,and he was nominated for Oscars
in the same category for Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), It's A
Wonderful Life (1946), Harvey (1950) and Anatomy of a Murder
(1959). Stewart, who was awarded an Honorary Academy Award in 1984, also
appeared in You Can't Take It With You (1938), Destry Rides Again
(1939), The Greatest Show on Earth (1952), Rear Window (1954),
The Spirit of St. Louis (1957), Vertigo (1958) and a long list of
other features. Paperclip impression at lower right near name. Staple holes at
