James "Jimmy" Stewart (1908-1997) played the main character in several iconic
American films, ones that despite their age stay relevant and intriguing. He frequently
worked with Frank Capra and Alfred Hitchcock. His films include Mr. Smith Goes to
Washington (1939), It's a Wonderful Life (1946), and Vertigo (1958). Stewart also served in
WWII; the men in his family had a long tradition of serving in the armed forces going back to the
Civil War. He earned the rank of Brigadier General, becoming the highest-ranking
actor ever. Fine condition. Framed to an overall size of 23¼x19½.
