James Stewart sends a typed letter sending photographs.
Typed Letter Signed: "James Stewart", 1p, 6¼x8½. Beverly
Hills, California, 1988 May 24. On letterhead imprinted "James Stewart" to
Todd M. Axelrod, Las Vegas, Nevada. In full: "I have your letter
requesting 8X10 signed photos and I am returning your check because I don't
sell photographs. I send out the pictures I sent you very often and I
also sent you the five drawings of the rabbit, 'Harvey'. I send you all my
best regards." In the year he signed this letter, Stewart was seen in
archival footage in The 1940's: Music, Memories & Milestones.
James "Jimmy"Stewart (1908-1997) starred in more recognized
masterpieces of the American cinema than any other actor. In 1940, he won
the Best Actor Academy Award for The Philadelphia Story,and he was nominated for Oscars in the same category for Mr. Smith
Goes to Washington (1939), It's A Wonderful Life (1946),
Harvey (1950) and Anatomy of a Murder (1959). Stewart was
awarded an Honorary Academy Award in 1984. Lightly creased with fold, not
at signature. Slightly soiled. Light impressions, likely occurring during
mailing, at signature, postal impressions at inside address. Overall, fine
condition.
