Photograph signed: "James L Brown/7/12/79", B/w 10x8. Davis appeared as the character Nick Courteen alongside Walter Brennan and Rod Cameron in this 1949 Republican Pictures western directed by Joseph Kane. A former tennis pro, Brown (1920-1992) appeared in a long list of feature films, including starring roles in Going My Way (1944) and Objective Burma (1945) before donning a cavalry uniform to play Lieutenant Rip Masters in The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin, which aired from 1954-1959. He also appeared in a 1957 feature film based on the series, The Challenge of Rin Tin Tin, and in 1976 he filmed "wraparounds" for syndicated Rin Tin Tin reruns. Brown also appeared in a number of made-for-TV films (he made his last in 1991) and guest starred on several TV series, including a recurring role as Detective Harry McSween on Dallas (1978-1989). In addition to his acting career, Brown successfully marketed body-building equipment and headed customer relations for Faberge cosmetics. Lightly bowed Lightly creased.
