JAMES "RIP" BROWN
B/w still of Brown with Rusty (Lee Aaker) and the titular dog of the TV show Rin Tin Tin
Photograph signed: "James Brown (Rip)". B/w, 8x10. Still from the TV series, The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin. A former tennis pro, Brown (1920-1992) appeared in a long list of feature films, including starring roles in Going My Way (1944) and Objective Burma (1945) before donning a cavalry uniform to play Lieutenant Rip Masters in The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin, which aired from 1954-1959. He also appeared in a 1957 feature film based on the series, The Challenge of Rin Tin Tin, and in 1976 he filmed "wraparounds" for syndicated Rin Tin Tin reruns. Brown also appeared in a number of made-for-TV films (he made his last in 1991) and guest starred on several TV series, including a recurring role as Detective Harry McSween on Dallas (1978-1989). In addition to his acting career, Brown successfully marketed body-building equipment and headed customer relations for Faberge cosmetics. Lightly creased at blank margins and corners. Glue stains from mounting at all four corners, minor paper loss at lower right corner from removal of mounting material. Minor surface creases and scratches (most not evident head on). Overall, fine condition.
