always been the rule in our College,-not of my making but given me to
administer-that the Preacher's list is limited to the 3 Theological years:
and the Committee attach so much importance to this...." Martineau writes
about the admission of a student to Manchester New College. James Martineau,
brother of English novelist Harriet Martineau, was a Unitarian theologian and
preacher in the chapel in Liverpool (1832-1857). From 1869-1885, Martineau
served as principal of Manchester New College. Folds, not at signature.
