English actorMason (1909-1984) earned Oscar nominations for Best Actor for A Star Is Born (1954) and Best Supporting Actor for Georgy Girl (1966) and The Verdict (1982). Whether playing Brutus (Julius Caesar, 1953), a master spy (North By Northwest, 1959) or a pedophile (Lolita, 1962), Mason could be counted on for a strong performance.
