on verso (unknown hand): "James Mason 1-20-71 guest on Steve Allen Show".
English actor Mason (1909-1984) earned Oscar nominations for Best
Actor for A Star Is Born (1954) and Best Supporting Actor for Georgy
Girl (1966) and The Verdict (1982). Whether playing Brutus
(Julius Caesar, 1953), a master spy (North By Northwest, 1959) or
a pedophile (Lolita, 1962), Mason could be counted on for a strong
performance. Among his other notable films are Madame Bovary (1949),
The Desert Fox (1951), Prisoner of Zenda (1952) and 20,000
Leagues Under the Sea (1954). No show through from ink note on verso.
Vertical folds touch the "M" in Mason. Lightly soiled. Staple holes at blank
right margin. Overall, fine condition.
