Magazine Photograph Signed: "James Patrick/ 3". 8x10½ color photograph of Patrick with the
New York Rangers on a piece of blue cardstock. James Patrick (b. 1963) is an NHL
defenseman who played for 21 seasons with the New York Rangers (1983-1994),
Hartford Whalers (1993-1994), Calgary Flames (1993-1998), and the Buffalo Sabres
(1998-2004). Following a successful college career, he was selected to represent Canada at the
1984 Winter Olympics, though the team did not place for any medals. His performance was
noted, however, and he was signed into the NHL in 1984. In total, he played 1280 career
games, scoring 149 goals and 490 assists, for a total of 639 points. Patrick ranks as one of
the highest scoring defenseman, and previously held a record for career games played by a
Team Canada member (40 games). After retiring from the NHL in 2005, he served as
assistant coach for the Sabres starting in 2006, and later became head coach in 2012 following
the former head coach suffering from an injury. Worn around edges. Note on verso in
