On stationery of the Garfield & Garfield law firm, founded with his older brother Harry. Garfield, 15 years old when his father was assassinated, served as Theodore Roosevelt's Secretary of the Interior, 1907-1909. Lightly soiled. Slightly creased. Paper clip stain at upper right. Erased notes (unknown hand) at blank lower right and upper margin. 2½-inch separation at horizontal fold touches "R. Garfield" of signature (all intact). ¾-inch separation at upper horizontal fold in blank area (all intact).
