4½x6 (one surface). James S. "The Bear" Brady (1940-2014), Assistant to
the President and Press Secretary, was severely wounded in the head in the
March 30, 1981 attempted assassination of President Reagan. He and his wife
Sarah then led a campaign for stronger gun laws and on November 30, 1993,
President Clinton signed the "Brady Bill", a bill named in Mr. Brady's honor,
into law. The Brady Law requires a five-day waiting period and background
check on all handgun purchases through licensed dealers. Ink name (unknown
hand) on verso (no show through). Corners and edges slightly worn. Fine
condition.
