Document signed "Jan Peerce" in blue ink. 1 page, 8½x11. Sept. 26, 1956. This document
directs Roncom Productions, Inc. to forward his payment for appearing on the Sept. 29,
1956 episode of The Perry Como Show to William Morris Agency in New York, New
York. Peerce (1904-1984) debuted at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 1941 as
Alfredo in Verdi's La Traviata. He remained as the Met's leading tenor until 1966,
returning to appear regularly there until 1982. Peerce, who had made his operatic debut
in May 1938 in Philadelphia as the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto, was the first American
to sing with the Bolshoi Theatre Opera. Lightly toned and creased. Lightly torn along
edges and nicked in upper left corner. Upper left corner has small fold. Page has been
folded in three and unfolded. Otherwise in fine condition.
