Autograph Sentiment signed: "Jan van der Gucht/with every
good/wish/December 1950", 3x2 card. Jan van der Gucht was a
concert singer, performing classical and modern orchestral and choral
works, including Handel's "Acis and Galatea" and Mendelssohn's "Elijah". He
was featured at Central Hall, Redhill (south of London) during World War II. His
recordings included "On Wings of Song" for Decca. He made an early TV appearance
as the knight Leandro in a production of the Busoni opera Arlecchino
(1939). Lightly toned. Paper remnants on verso. Corners and edges slightly worn.
Ink slightly smeared, but legible. Crease through top margin. Otherwise, fine
condition.
