In full: "The most important thing I learned about Eleanor Roosevelt's nature was that she had a need to survive and to survive well by loving and being loved by others. The most difficult part of portraying her was the fact that she was so well known to the world." Stage, screen and television actress Jane Alexander portrayed the First Lady in two TV specials, Eleanor and Franklin (1976) and Eleanor and Franklin: the White House Years (1977). Alexander won a Tony Award for The Great White Hope (1969) and an Emmy Award for Playing for Time (1981). She also was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actress for The Great White Hope (1971) and Testament (1983) and nominated for Best Supporting Actress Oscars for All The President's Men and Kramer vs. Kramer (1979). She chaired the National Endowment for the Arts from 1993-1997. Folds. Fine condition.
