JANE FONDA and TOM HAYDEN Both pen their signatures on this sheet in blue ink! Signatures: "Peace/Jane Fonda" and "Tom/Hayden", 5¼x5¾ sheet. The daughter of actor Henry Fonda, JANE FONDA's early film roles under the influence of French husband Roger Vadim cultivated a sex kitten image, as in 1968's Barbarella. Politically radicalized by the Vietnam War, she earned the lasting ire of many by a visit to North Vietnam at the height of the conflict. Her film career during the subsequent two decades was quite exceptional, however.  She won Best Actress Oscars for Klute (1971) and Coming Home (1978), as well as nominations for They Shoot Horses, Don't They? (1969), Julia (1977), The China Syndrome (1979), On Golden Pond - her only film appearance with her father (1981), and The Morning After (1986). She also marketed a popular series of exercise videos. TOM HAYDEN (1939-2016) was a leader of the student, civil rights and anti-war movements in the Sixties, and the environmental and anti-nuclear movements in the Seventies. He was elected to the state Assembly in 1982 and the state Senate in 1992, seven consecutive victories on the west side of Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. He also ran "protest" campaigns for Governor and Mayor of Los Angeles during the 90s. According to the Los Angeles Times, when he retired in September 1999 from the state legislature, he received the longest farewell of any legislator in memory. They were married from the early 1970s to the early 1980s. Creased. Uneven edges. Typing on verso lightly shows through. Otherwise, fine condition.
