JANE FONDA
A photograph of the actress wearing a low cut top, signed in black
felt tip
Photograph signed: "Jane/Fonda", in black felt tip, Color
8x10. The daughter of actor Henry Fonda, Jane Fonda (b. 1937) made
her film debut in Tall Story in 1960, the year she was nominated for a
Tony Award for Best Supporting or Featured Actress (Dramatic) for There
Was a Little Girl. Her early film roles under the influence of French
director Roger Vadim (her husband from 1965-1973) cultivated a sex kitten image,
as in Barbarella (1968). Politically radicalized by the Vietnam War, she
earned the lasting enmity of many by a visit to North Vietnam at the height of
the conflict. Her film career during the subsequent two decades was exceptional,
however. Fonda won Best Actress Academy Awards for Klute (1971) as
well as Coming Home (1978), and was nominated for Best Actress
Oscars for They Shoot Horses, Don't They? (1969), Julia
(1977), The China Syndrome (1979), On Golden Pond (1981; her only
film appearance with her father) and The Morning After (1986). She also
marketed a popular series of exercise videos. "Retiring" from acting in
1992, Fonda made a comeback in Monster-in-Law in 2005, the year
her autobiography, My Life So Far, was released. In addition to Vadim,
Fonda has also been married to politician and activist Tom Hayden (1973-1990)
and media mogul Ted Turner (1991-2001). Signature slightly smeared. Slightly
toned. Corners lightly worn. Fine condition.
