Rancho Mirage, California, 1994 February 9. To Fran Shworles, Duncan, Oklahoma. In full: "It was kind of you to write me and I appreciate it very much. It is also good for the ego to receive pleasant comments about my professional career after these many years. As you have requested: a. An autographed photograph is enclosed. b. My birthday is August 7. c. I do not have any formal fan clubs, but many friends, such as you, continue to keep in touch. I hope that your physical condition is improved and that you are enjoying a wonderful life. Sincerely". Photograph not present. Jane "Poni" Adams (1918-2014) was offered a scholarship to study violin at Julliard but chose to study acting at the Pasadena Playhouse instead. She is best remembered as the most beautiful of monster creations, the hunchbacked Nina of House of Dracula (1945). Adams later appeared in two serials - Lost City of the Jungle (1946) and 1949's Batman and Robin, but did mostly television thereafter. Adams retired from show business in 1953 in order to travel with her husband, Major General Thomas Turnage, later an advisor to President Reagan. Slightly creased. Lightly soiled at upper right blank margin. Fine condition.
