Music and lyrics to "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" (music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Leo Robin) from the hit musical Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. © 1949, Consolidated Music Publishers, N.Y. Although neither was part of the original Broadway cast (1949), RUSSELL co-starred with MARILYN MONROE in the film version (1953). Russell received top billing, while the newly popular Monroe received second billing! Jane Russell was cast in The Outlaws in 1941 after a much publicized Howard Hughes search for a busty actress, surpassed her bombshell image to perform skillfully in films for three decades, from comedies with Bob Hope to musicals with Marilyn Monroe. She often played tough, cynical women. Lightly creased. Soiled at upper right blank corner of front cover. Fine condition.
