(1923-2011) was a Scottish comedienne, actress and impersonator. Early in
her career she presented Picture Book a children's show on BBC. She
became well known in the 1970's for her accurate impressions of the British
politician Margaret Thatcher. She performed her impersonation on the radio,
television and in the 1981 James Bond film For Your Eyes Only. She also starred as Thatcher on the 1979
comedy album Iron Lady: The Coming Of The Leader. Brown continued
acting into her 80's and in 2007 she gave her final performance at the Theater
Royal Haymarket in London in a production of William Wycherly's The Country
Wife. She was married to actor Peter Butterworth who was best known for
his character roles in the British Carry On film series. Fine
condition.
