Self-caricature in blue ink, drawn with stringy hair and a sad look
Self-caricature signed: "Janet Margolin", 6x8½. Janet Margolin (1943-1993) was nominated for a Golden Globe for New Female Star of the Year for her performance as a 15 year-old schizophrenic who speaks only in rhyme in David Lisa (1962). (Her co-star Keir Dullea won the same award in the male category, and director Frank Perry won an Oscar for the film.) Margolin had already won a Tony for playing another troubled teen in Daughter of Silence (1961). Her later film credits include The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965), Nevada Smith (1966), Take the Money and Run (1969), Annie Hall (1977) and Ghostbusters 2 (1989). Margolin also appeared in made-for-TV movies and guest starred on several TV shows (she was also a regular on a short-lived series, Lanigan's Rabbi, in 1977). Margolin was married to her second husband, actor Ted Wass, at the time of her death from ovarian cancer. Normal mailing folds. Lightly creased. Lightly frayed at bottom edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
